It was proposed to celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity 2021 in collaboration with Kohima Science College (Autonomous) on 22nd May. But due to the total lockdown imposed in Kohima from 15th May, the program had to be cancelled.
However, to commemorate the IDB, 2021 a short documentary video on the sustainable alder based cultivation system practises basing on the IDB theme “We are a part of the Solution #For Nature” was produced by the Khonoma BMC in collaboration with the Nagaland State Biodiversity Board.
The main concept of producing this documentary is to share and promote the good sustainable practices of the people of Khonoma with the world, that such practice ensures organic farming, food security, boost local economy while at the same time bring about conservation of the rich forest biodiversity, thus contributing as a Solution for Nature.
The video was successfully produced and premiered on Youtube for the public with the title “Friend of the Farmers”. The link was shared online through various social media platforms and has gained wide viewer and publicity.
